Before & After Landscape Photos
Spaces can be made not just beautiful, but more functional as well. Have a look at some of the possibilities with the following before and after landscape photos! And contact us anytime to talk about the possibilities for your property.
Landscaping Around Parking
This bleak rear garden was 'invaded' by the parking pad- cars practically joining the clients at the table! The parking is now separated from the outdoor living space by a lattice screen planted with native vines and a shed. A pretty stone wall and plantings soften the outer edge.
Poolside Landscape Design
A very tiny townhouse garden with a pool and minimal space around the edges. The client had a painting studio in the upper level of the garage, using a ladder for access to the roof top door! Making access to the studio safe and interesting, hiding the pool equipment, and finding a way to liven up the space in a minimal way was important. Wire grills mounted on the fence at left eventually were covered with vines creating green walls.
Landscape Design Expertise
The view of this generously sized garden was blocked by an overbearing evergreen making a
too-small terrace feel like standing room only. Pulling the seating area away from the house allows deeper glimpses of the garden around each corner of the house. A new low wall creates additional seating for larger gatherings.

Garden Walkway Updates
A plain passage and planting from house to rear garden was updated with lots of plant texture and a new stepstone path. Tropicals are dotted throughout this garden in the summer for a slightly Louisiana feel, the client's home state.
Backdoor Update
Falling out this backdoor was a real safety concern. A small balcony-like landing was added and the steps turned to one side making for a more graceful connection to a new rear terrace. A sport court is tucked off to one side and behind a small screening tree.
Front Yard Landscape Design
Bulky planting right at the house and a dead straight front walk 'gave away' most of this front yard to the street. Adding turns to the walkway, windowpane lattice fencing and new plantings nearer the street tucks in an entry court and pond which is private feeling when seated, but still open enough to visit with passing neighbors.
Deck Design
A mismatch in scale, this huge house and tiny deck were brought into better proportion. The new composite, iron and ipe deck/screened porch with a small gas fireplace makes the space a cozy 3 season outdoor room.
Backyard Landscape Design/Update
The long view down the back of the house ended in an unattractive fence and the neighbor's house looming next door. A pergola over a new seating area, added plantings and a hot tub tucked behind a stone wall create private outdoor living and a lovely focal point within the garden.
Front Yard Design
A garage doing double duty as the focal point from the house. A mansard roof detail and custom iron security grill was added to make the garage more fun, planting bed/seat walls provide extra seating with minimal need for furniture, and limestone pavers and cobbles set crosswise make the narrow garden appear wider.
Front Yard Design
Much uncertainty in approaching this front door- where is it? And how to show the way to the front door without having to see the cars in the driveway from the front door view? A front wall was added to make an inner entry court and hide cars. An easy and obvious route to the front door is planted with numerous drought tolerant natives.
Backyard Landscape Design / Update
This deck surrounded by overgrown plantings was completely separated from the back garden view. A new screened porch, wrap around deck, and stone seatwall makes for mosquito-free outdoor living and a lovely new view into the garden. Skylights keep the interior of the house light.
