of our food supply - no bees, no food! Orchard mason bees usually emerge from their cocoons in March as temperatures begin to warm, set to work on the spring blooming plants, have laid their eggs and ended their run by mid-June. As they wind up, leaf cutter bees make their appearance and are active until early fall. Set up a bee house and enjoy watching them arrive covered in pollen to wriggle their way into their personal front door- OH! Excuse me! Wrong door! Each bee has her own private address in the bee house.
